Hello to all who have come to this blog! I will write about plants, flowers, nature, etc., but especially Iris is my favorite flower! Hope to share my experiences and reflections in them that may fall over.
The first iris is of course a reticulata iris: iris sophenensis grows in Turkey and east of the Caucasus mountains, it is not very high about 10 cm, it was this iris and a diploid form of iris danfordiae which were crossed and gave Alan McMurtrie his breakthrough in the new reticulatahybrider as we have seen over the last 10-15yo, where new colors like orange-brown-greenish crossed into reticulata iris.

Hello Karsten Yes the first one is always special, especially in the month of January! The danfordiae you buy in the fall is a sterile triploid form, and the "natural" toothpaste for dinner wild type (2n) is slightly smaller in flower and fertile. Have a good evening Delete
