SRAM has launched a new MTB series called GX, which will fill the gap between their existing X5 and X1. Paradoxically, it goes a little against the SRAM previous strategy to reduce gear area, but competition from Shimano promises greater width on their mountain bike groups, Americans have apparently not been able to sit overhørrig.
The new group comes in both a 10 and 11 speed version, and with single-ring X-Sync or the still widespread double kranksær. SRAM expands GX group gear tighten especially at 11 gear version which, thanks XD cassette can allow a 10 wreath as the smallest. Sing Speed group comes with an 10-42 cassette and each wreath in front can be selected between 30 to 38 teeth maximizing gear span of 420 percent. stride gum
The version with double cranks have even greater span of the entire 630 percent for the combination 36-24 teeth in front and 10-42 rear cassette. SRAM claims to Shimano 11 speed group with triple stride gum crankset for comparison only has a span of 573 percent.
